Why is Shipping so expensive for my International Order?
This is a very common question we receive from our International Customers.
Unfortunately, all of the traceable methods available to ship Internationally are quite expensive. Our standard shipping method, USPS Priority Mail, is the least expensive shipping method with moderate tracking information available. Also, USPS Priority Mail typically requires less in customs fees and duties than corporate shippers such as FedEx.
While the only cheaper International method - 1st Class Mail - is available with 'Delivery Confirmation', we DO NOT offer this shipping method for the following reasons:
- Delivery Confirmation is not the same as Tracking Information. It only confirms the package has been delivered.
- 1st Class Mail has highly unreliable ship speeds and ship accuracy. For example, some 1st Class shipments will arrive to the UK in 3 weeks while others will arrive in 4 months. Our guess is as good as yours as to if it's just taking a long time to arrive or the shipment has been lost.
- International First Class shipments are much more likely to be lost in transit.
- International First Class shipments are not insurable.
- The International First Class Mail service's maximum weight limit is 4 pounds, so most boxed full size keyboards are too heavy to qualify.
Please note that we are
always looking for cheaper ways to ship Internationally. If you know of a better way, please let us know. Also, if you have a 3rd party shipping account you would like use for your International order, we will do our best to accommodate you.
